David and I had a brief encounter with DeSha's in Lexington before the Nine Inch Nails concert last year. We went to the Kentucky Horse park (upon my insistence) and still had some extra time before the concert.
We got the cheese dip and some drinks. DeSha's in Lexington is a little smaller than the one on Ohio—I think it is an older building, it boasts the being the "original" DeSha's. The cheese dip was delicious and I was sad that the Ohio location did not have it on the menu. DeSha's also has a nice selection of Bourbons. David wanted to get the Pappy Van Winkle 20 year, but it was ridiculously expensive and they were out the Pappy Van Winkle 15 year, which was more reasonable.
We stuck with a few cocktails and blue moons. (Our standard summer beer). We felt bad for the bartender—he had to step out and wait all the tables around the bar and try and make drinks at the same time. Service was slow as a result, but I don't think it was his fault—I blame management for not staffing the place properly.
The concert was at the area about a block away and after we had demolished the dip, we went on over. It was awesome. We took a few pictures with our phones. We were sitting towards the side, pretty close to the stage. We had a really good view and they played all of our favorite songs. They also had lights and effects that were put together by a company that works with Cirque de Soleil, which were very impressive.
